Undiagnosed MS was my Sixth Sense

Navigating Life, Work, and Purpose With an Unseen Compass

For most, a sixth sense is just a gut feeling – a quiet whisper of intuition. For me, it’s always been there, but I didn’t recognize it for what it was. I thought it was normal. Just part of life. A constant undercurrent pushing me in one direction while the world told me to go another.

Even before my MS and Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) diagnoses, I lived with a nagging sense of imbalance – deep frustration, unexplained exhaustion, and an anxiety that never quite left. I chalked it up to stress, like everyone else grinding through the workweek. But looking back, I realize that was my sixth sense. Not some mystical force, but an internal compass trying to guide me toward a life that actually fit.

Built for Something Different

From the start of my career, I knew I wasn’t cut out for the traditional grind – five days a week in an office, hustling like crazy. It never sat right with me. My sixth sense kept pulling me toward something more…  work that made a real impact, done on my own terms. Not out of selfishness, but because I had to.

Corporate America wasn’t built for that mindset. Flexibility was seen as laziness, not strategy. And yet, my sixth sense never let up. It didn’t whisper – it was blatant. Every bout of exhaustion, every spike of anxiety, every moment of frustration was a red flag waving in my face.

Maybe it was my body intentionally guiding me away from things because I was pushing myself too hard. Or maybe it was pulling me toward work that actually mattered – work that made a strong impact for the greater good, like my first and only startup, neighborbee. It didn’t take off the way I’d hoped in 2007, but the experience changed everything. It led to over a decade of guest lecturing at Fordham University, teaching entrepreneurship and resilience. It also led to my passion for content creation, social selling and just social in general.

Looking back, it’s wild how things work. Even though anxiety often clouded my path, it somehow still guided me – intentionally and, at times, blatantly. I didn’t understand it then, but now I see it for what it was: a sign that I was meant to do things differently.

Turning Pain Into Purpose

My sixth sense didn’t just change how I lived – it changed how I worked. It taught me that success isn’t about grinding until you break. It’s about building something sustainable, impactful, and aligned with your values.

That’s how I reinvented my career in under a year – competing differently and better, not because I wanted to, but because I had to.

My career was always preparation for going on my own as well as the skills I gained and contacts I made along the way.

This reinvention checks the boxes on everything – impact, health, expertise and skill alignment.

A Movement Bigger Than Me

I’ve always believed work should be about more than just showing up. It should be about making an impact. That’s why I’m channeling my experience into something greater – a movement for MS, autoimmune, and trigeminal warriors.

The goal? To break down biases in corporate spaces, create awareness, and show the world that resilience isn’t the absence of struggle – it’s thriving in spite of it.

My sixth sense didn’t just shape my life. It gave me clarity, purpose, and direction. It taught me that the best way forward is to listen, adapt, and build something that truly matters.

So, what’s your sixth sense trying to tell you? Are you listening? Because when you do, you will bring yourself to the next level and beyond.
